Reporting a wrong figure

This is the most useful thing you can send, and we would rather hear it than not. We publish 2,354 verified labels; manufacturers reformulate, and a guaranteed analysis that was correct when we read it can be wrong months later. If a number here does not match the bag in front of you, the bag is right.

Include whatever you have of:

Corrections are made to the underlying data, not to the single page you spotted it on, so the fix reaches the product page, any guide that ranked it, the calculators, the reports and the published datasets together. That takes a little longer than editing one line and is the reason we do it.

Data, press and licensing

The datasets behind this site are published under CC BY 4.0 and are free to cite with attribution and a link — the per-ingredient endpoints, the ingredient index and the corpus-wide report are all machine-readable, and the terms page covers reuse. If you need a cut we have not published, or a figure checked before you print it, write and say what you are working on. We would rather answer a question in advance than see a number misquoted.

What to cover next

Requests for brands, products or questions we have not covered genuinely shape what gets built. The corpus grows toward whatever people keep asking about, so telling us a brand is missing is a useful thing to do.

The one thing we cannot answer

We cannot tell you what to feed a sick animal. Nobody here is a veterinarian, and a question about a diagnosed condition — kidney disease, pancreatitis, diabetes, urinary problems, a suspected allergy — needs someone who can examine your pet and run tests. Please ask your vet rather than us. If your pet has eaten a recalled product and is unwell, that is a call to the vet now, not an email.

What we can do is show you what a label says and what the arithmetic on it works out to, which is what the diet analyser is for — including a summary you can print and take to that appointment.
